When your senior portrait client requests lots of flowers for her session, you'd better be able to deliver.
That's exactly what happened when Haley reached out to schedule her photos for early June. She wanted light, bright and fun pics with lots of flowers and rustic structures, and I immediately got busy researching possible locations that could provide what she requested. The biggest challenge with flowers is that, depending on the time of year, you're never really sure what's fully in bloom.
I investigated several locations throughout the Kansas City metro area. Some were quite a drive from where Haley lives in the Northland. Others required reservations, photography permits or an admission fee. Still others were in areas surrounded by lots of construction with limited to no parking.
In the end, the best locations happened to be some of the closest and most convenient I looked at. All of the photos below were taken at English Landing Park, the Sullivan Nature Sanctuary and the Park University campus in Parkville. Each location delivered with gorgeous flowers, bright foliage and structures with character for days.
Haley was a joy to collaborate with on these photos. She exuded grace, charm and a vibrant, youthful energy that came through in all of her photos. She had a vision for her senior portraits and we worked together to bring it to life.
